Haven't even tried recording anything yet. Should I use a port on the PCI card instead? Also, I don't even know the specs on his harddrive, but it says "3.5" External Sub-System" on it and it appears the manufacturer is Bytec, which I've never heard of. I have the harddrive plugged into the FW port on the motherboard. And I have done the XP tweaks from Digi's site. Also, the timeline marker stays in place once it starts chopping. Everything installed fine and the program boots up just fine, but playback is really choppy and drops out every few seconds, no matter what I set the buffer to. Sorry about leavin out the specs of the CPU.Got an Mbox 2 Pro on my boys computer (not my own PC), connected to a Digi/Avid approve FW pci card from Guitar Center. Was really just wantin to have it around in case of emergency because as the sayin goes, "Shit Happens". I just thought I'd ask on here because there's people on here that are a hell of a lot smarter than me with my more experience than me.

Only paid $40 for the unit(Prices aren't inflated & staged for TV in this place, Lol.)so I'm not worried about havin to buy a different one. There’s even a surround aspect to the Mbox 2. Because the Mbox 2 is a native Core Audio device, any Macintosh application will happily play via the unit without requiring the old Digidesign Core Audio manager.

I bought a storage locker at auction in a little town by Sacramento & saw this and a few Mic boxes. Digidesign has also put a lot of work into the sound drivers for Mbox 2. I already have a MBox2 Mini that I've been using since before I got the MBox2 Pro.

I'll go ahead and try that again though, I wouldn't put it past myself that I forgot to install em or something stupid of that nature. I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers last time I had tried messing around with it.
